CLASS DESCRIPTIONS - 7 classes to choose from (scroll down)

·     Tuesday am (Start date April 25th): 9:30-12:00 Dramatic Pastels
(TWO PARTS) SIGN UP for BOTH or just ONE half

Discover the vivid, expressive medium of pastels. It's the closest thing to oil painting without all of the solvents. Learn how to work dark to light, create bold, expressive strokes and work with rich jewel tones to create large dramatic paintings. It's NOT as hard or as MESSY as you think and so AFFORDABLE! (paper is purchased in class, see supply list for additional supplies) 

Some drawing is required, no pastel knowledge is required

  • Stunning, coral coloured landscapes of the southwest April 25th - May 16th 
  • Expressive Florals in Pastel. Bold, delicious bouquets of flowers that explode off the paper! May 30th - June 20th

·     Tuesday pm (Start date April 25th):  12:45-3:15  Cafes & Bistro (Pen & Ink) 

Adorable, light hearted illustration techniques of charming Tea Houses, desserts, Café windows and Bistro settings.

Ooooh La La!  

* Be sure to consult both pen and watercolour material lists * HOT pressed paper used *. (Some drawing and watercolour experience is needed)

·     Wednesday am (Start date April 26th): 9:30-12:00 Canada’s Parks (Watercolour)

It’s time to celebrate Canada’s 150 by exploring our National Parks in watercolour. Subject matter includes mountains, trees, lakes and streams set against our most awe-inspiring backdrops. (Some watercolour experience is needed)

·     Wednesday pm (Start date April 26th): 12:45-3:15 Glorious expressive bouquets (watercolour)

Large scale expressive bouquets of flowers in watercolour. Learn how to create rich, saturated florals with integrated backgrounds. Loosen up and let the energy flow in this exuberant class. (All levels welcome)

·       Thursday am (Start date April 27th): 9:30-12:00 Expressive Portraits & Figures (Watercolour)

Have you ever wanted to paint your grandchild? Or perhaps you would love to paint a portrait of people you love as an anniversary gift? Learn to capture the essence of your subject with lose gestural strokes, recipes for luminous skin tone and special effects that bring your subject to life. (Some drawing and watercolour experience is needed)

·       Thursday pm (Start date April 27th): 12:45-3:15 Plein aire secrets (Watercolour) 

Learn the secrets behind capturing your subject matter quickly and efficiently. Blocking in, shadows & light, masses and “sketching” with your paint brush. The first half of classes will be in studio- learning techniques and discussing fundamentals. If weather permits, remaining classes will be executed outdoors in the Nepean area.  (All levels)
