Crystal Beshara is a Canadian contemporary realist painter and proud two time winner of the prestigious Elizabeth Greenshields Foundation prize. She holds a BFA in studio, a botanical diploma from The Society of Botanical Artists (UK) (dipSBA), is an elected member of the International Guild of Realism (IGOR) . Her work has been featured in numerous publications including an 11 page spread in International Artist Magazine (dec / Jan 2015).
A self-taught realist, her childhood was spent drawing and observing life on a farm and the quiet, connective world in which she lived. Crystal's strong rural narrative continues to play a huge role in her paintings. Her style is a juxtaposition of two worlds; where her love of realism collides with her post secondary studies creating expressive and emotionally charged works of art that have been collected by corporate, private and commercial clients. She has worked with CHIP REIT (Crowne Plaza Hotels), Nortel, and Canadian Museum of Civilization on site specific artwork as well as creating special and more personal commissions. Her sensitivity to detail, accuracy in anatomy combined with expressive strokes and harmonious colour palette give Crystal a unique voice - making her one of Canada's rising contemporary realist painters.
In Ottawa, Crystal is represented by Wall Space Gallery
