Growing up on a rural farm deeply influenced my lens on the world. As a third-generation artist on both sides of my family, I was raised with a pencil in my hand and a deep-seated respect for the craft. Painting and drawing were part of everyday life. Today, my work serves as a contemplative exploration of our relationship to an ever-changing landscape. Blending realism and expressionism, I work in both oil and watercolour to record a way of life that is slowly disappearing—documenting the homesteads, animals and agriculture that define our heritage.
With over 25 years as a professional artist and educator, my technical approach is one of "meticulous reverence." I seek to capture the whisper of a botanical subject through delicate glazes of watercolour or the rich story of a weathered old barn through broad, gestural texture oils strokes using splattering, scraping and some of my favourite weird, old tools that have had their own hisotry.
Beyond the studio, I am an international arts educator. I have been invited to teach workshops al over the world including Greece, Italy, France, England, Ireland, the US and of course Canada. Through my workshops and my YouTube community of nearly 50,000 artists, I truly believe that art is for everyone. Sharing my passion is my way of helping others connect more deeply to their own creativity and joy.
I spend most of my days in my light-filled studio located in the small rural village of L’Orignal, nestled between Montreal and Ottawa.
