Why I Love Painting Flowers
Painting flowers lets me walk between two completely different worlds as an artist.
My botanical illustration background loves the discipline—the slow, deliberate watercolor glazes, the focus required to capture exact anatomy, and the patience it demands. It’s a very grounding, meditative way to work. But I also need the complete opposite: the freedom of oil painting. Stepping up to a canvas with thick paint and big, expressive brushstrokes allows me to capture the movement, drama, and pure color of a bloom at its peak.
My hope is that they bring that same sense of life and color into your space.
